The Rev. Dr. Susan E. Crane has served Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington, Maine as Pastor since July 1, 2002.

Susan was educated at Albion College (BA, 1971) and Boston University School of Theology (M.Div., 1976; D.Min., 1980). She was ordained into the Christian Ministry in 1977 at the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, RI.

Rev. Crane served as pastor of the Lowville Baptist Church (NY), the First Baptist Church of Weston (MA), and the Interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Gardiner (ME), prior to being called by Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. She also serves on a volunteer basis as the ABCOM Advocate for Women in Ministry, encouraging other women God has called; she is the author of JUNIA: A Bible Study and Storytelling Resource for the Church. Rev. Crane serves on the ABCOM Institute for Ministry Board and as Coordinator for the ABCOM Missional Church Learning Experience. Pastor Susan serves HMBC ¾ time, and is actively engaged in ministry with the 16 American Baptist Churches of the West Association of ABCOM.

Rev. Crane serves in the Greater Farmington community as Financial Secretary of F.A.E.M. and Coordinator of the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund, which now raises $50,000 a year to help keep our neighbors warm. She serves on the Mount Blue Housing Board and the Western Maine Homeless Outreach Advisory Council. She is the recipient of awards for community service from both Western Maine Community Action, Inc. and the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area. Rev. Crane is deeply committed to working together with other community partners to help improve the quality of life for neighbors in need.
